Cultural Activities & Historical Resources
The last Saturday in June, South Berwick hosts the Strawberry Festival, a day long celebration with entertainment, crafts, food, and of course, Strawberry Shortcake.
The Hackmatack Playhouse in Berwick and Dover provides year round theater activities. Seasonal productions can be found at the Ogunquit Playhouse, Theater by the Sea in Portsmouth, Prescott Park in Portsmouth, and the Seacoast Repertory Theatre in Portsmouth.
The Community Chorus at South Berwick is a group of singers from over 17 communities who come together for the joy of preparing excellent choral music, and performing fine concerts in our communities. Based in South Berwick, the chorus provides dedicated, non-auditioned singers from throughout the seacoast Maine and New Hampshire area with the opportunity to enhance their musical knowledge and skills, while enjoying the fellowship of working with others in this common musical endeavor. CCSB brings outstanding choral concerts at least twice a year to audiences in the region.
