BOARD OF ASSESSORS
SEPTEMBER 24, 2007
Chairman Suzanne Roberge called the meeting to order at 6:53pm. Councilors present included Robert Gagne, Michelle Kareckas, Norma Tutelian, and Jean Demetracopoulos. Town Manager Jeffrey A. Grossman and Assessing Agent Craig Skelton were also in attendance.
The Board was presented with several abatements. Discussion ensued regarding whether the residents had filled out abatement requests. Ms. Skelton explained that he has always worked informally and did not require the residents to complete a request. He added that the Board can grant abatements without applications within one year of the commitment.
Consensus of the Board was to have residents complete applications for abatements.
Mr. Gagne made a motion to table action on the abatements until applications are completed. Mrs. Demetracopoulos seconded the motion.
Mrs. Demetracopoulos moved to amend the original motion by not including abatements 4 and 5 in the motion to table. Mrs. Tutelian seconded the motion. Motion passed 4-1 (Mr. Gagne opposed).
The original motion as amended, to table action on abatements 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, and 8, was voted on and passed unanimously.
On a motion by Mrs. Demetracopoulos, seconded by Mrs. Tutelian, it was unanimously voted to grant an abatement to account #M1845R in the amount of $105.47. The Town acquired the property for non-payment of taxes and was not properly coded in the system.
On a motion by Mrs. Demetracopoulos, seconded by Mr. Gagne, it was unanimously voted to grant an abatement to account #F0420Rin the amount of $1933.08. The parcel is owned by the Town and was not coded properly in the system.
The Board also discussed several supplements. On a motion by Mrs. Demetracopoulos, seconded by Mr. Gagne, it was unanimously voted to issue supplemental tax bills to the following:

On a motion by Mr. Gagne, seconded by Mrs. Demetracopoulos, it was unanimously voted to adjourn the meeting at 7:11pm.
