CMP's Transmission Corridor Work
Planning activities for tree clearing in CMP’s transmission corridor that runs from the northern town line in Kennebunk to the substation in Eliot is expected to begin as early as this Wednesday.  Work is planned to begin at the northern end of the corridor in Kennebunk and move south.  Professional contractors are now in the corridor flagging the clearing line and reflagging the wetlands and sensitive natural resources.  You will soon be seeing equipment in the area.  Timber mats will be installed in wetland areas and timber bridges will be placed over stream crossings.  Mowing will soon occur to establish the temporary access ways.  Tree clearing will occur along the southeast side of the corridor and clearing crews will focus on the drier parts along the corridor  until the ground conditions improve.  Eagle Veteran is the contractor responsible for the work.     MPRP outreach staff is in the process of notifying abutting landowners about the clearing.  If other residents have questions or concerns, you can direct them to the toll free line at 1-866-914-1944 or send an e-mail through the web site at info@mainepower.com .  Construction updates are available on the website at www.mainepower.com .
