ATTENDANCE: Dennis Smith, Mike Lassel, Amy Miller, Gary Trull, Thomas Keating
MAJOR POINTS:
Identify geographical downtown perimeter.
How can we improve South Berwick downtown….politics and money aside.
Support our ideas with detailed information.
MIKE LASSEL: Formulate map incorporating narrative of our plan – create vision using past visions and experiences. Explore downtown viability. Our charge to look into the future to plan.
AMY MILLER: Important to have vibrant downtown with both business and housing. What kind of business climate do we want? What we do to attract these businesses? What is keeping them away? Educate landlords to importance of tenants, retail, galleries, and restaurants.
CREATE PARKING:
How?
What kind – small creative areas instead of large lot.
TRAFFIC:
1. How to address?
a. Increase one way streets.
2. Meet with traffic committee.
3. Bus lines and or public transit.

* Each member read the existing plan
NEXT MEETING: Each member present 5 visions to improve downtown. Each member list 5 things that detract from downtown.
