Meeting Notes~ April 21, 2003.

Attendance:~ Lee Shipley, Jane Cowen-Fletcher, Sammie Haynes, Michelle Kareckas
~
Here is the draft for consideration:
~
1.~ Develop and implement framework to promote and sustain town wide cultural advocacies.
~~~~ Recommendation:~ Establish a Town Council appointed Cultural Committee.
~
2.~Develop and maintain a South Berwick's Artisan's Directory.
~~~ Recommendation:~ Utilize available funds for that publication and its future updates.
~
3.~ Explore using the Jewitt Eastman House as a site for cultural communication as well as for~~~ display.
~~~~ Recommendation:~ Coordinate with the Jem Committee to use their vacant space once the town occupies its new library.
~
4.~ Provide a central location for the visual, performing and literary arts.
~~~~ Recommendation:~ Utilize both the Jewitt Eastman House and the new town owned library for this space.
~
5.~ Enable the town to host cultural events and the display of~fine arts.
~~~~ Recommendation:~ Consider parking when designing and or designating existing common spaces for cultural events.
