BOARD OF ASSESSORS
NOVEMBER 24, 2003
Chairman Robert Gagne called the meeting to order at 6:15pm. Councilors present included John Ford, Suzanne Roberge, John Rudolph, and Richard Clough, Sr.. Town Manager Jon St. Pierre and Assessing Agent Jeff Waterhouse were also in attendance.
Action was taken on the following abatement requests:

Great Works Regional Land Trust submitted the application for abatement even though they did not purchase the above lots until June 2003. Mr. Waterhouse stated that the abatement request is valid from Great Works as the current owner and an aggrieved party. He further explained that the issue is not the ownership, but the valuation of the properties.
Mr. Waterhouse stated that the lots are un-developable as agreed upon in the Planning Board’s approval of the subdivision.
To date there have been 81 abatement requests. 75 have been processed; and a total of $35, 170 in taxes have been abated. 8 more abatement requests are expected.
Mr. Rudolph asked if there is a plan to evaluate the re-valuation process, and if a third party will do it. Mr. St. Pierre stated that MRI is the third party and will be reviewing process.
It was agreed that the next Board of Assessors meeting would be held on December 15, 2003.
On a motion by Mr. Clough, seconded by Mr. Ford, it was unanimously voted to adjourn the meeting at 6:40pm.
