PUBLIC HEARING
OCTOBER 27, 2003
Chairman David Webster opened the hearing at 6:00pm. Councilors present included Robert Gagne, John Ford, John Rudolph, and Suzanne Roberge. Jon St. Pierre, the Town Manager was also in attendance.
The purpose of the hearing was to receive public comment on the proposed rescission of the 1996 General Assistance Ordinance, the adoption of the 1998 version of the ordinance and the 2003/2004 Appendices A, B, & C.
Vicki Desilets, General Assistance Director, gave a brief overview of the changes. The 1998 version of the ordinance incorporates changes including the value used for motor vehicles, an applicant must submit their request to cancel a fair hearing in writing, and if the applicant owns more than 10 acres of land, the Town can require the sale of part of the land. The Appendices are updated annually to keep current with the cost of living.
No one in the audience wished to speak.
The hearing was closed at 6:05pm.
