PUBLIC HEARING
TRAFFIC ORDINANCE (§17)
JUNE 14, 2004
Chairman Robert Gagne opened the hearing at 6:30pm. Councilors present included John Rudolph, Suzanne Roberge, and Richard Clough. Jon St. Pierre, the Town Manager was also in attendance. John Ford was not present.
The purpose of the hearing was to receive public comment on the proposed amendment to Section 17 of the Traffic Ordinance regarding the restriction of parking on Vine Street.
Ernie Wood, Hill Drive, addressed the Council on behalf of the Old Berwick Historical Society. He stated that the Town should be proactive not reactive in encouraging the valid uses of historical treasures. See attached.
Ralph Stevens, Old South Road, stated that he felt those parking for the archaeological dig are some of the biggest offenders for creating parking problems on Vine Street.
Sandra Tucker, Brattle Street, thanked the Council for their effort.
The hearing was closed at 6:40pm.
