Who We Are
Our Recreation Department has a full-time Director and many volunteers for each of their events and programs. This Department works to provide many fun and interesting activities to all age groups here in South Berwick. The Recreation Department works with the local schools, sports groups, and the senior citizens of South Berwick and surrounding towns.
Who Funds Us
It is very important to know that there is a budget from the Town for this Department to work with. However, WITHOUT VOLUNTEERS, very little could actually happen.
The Eastern Trail has the potential to be the most significant recreational project along the southern Maine coast! Imagine walking - or biking - mostly through off-road woodland trails from Strawberry Banke in Portsmouth, New Hampshire to Bug Light Park on Casco Bay in South Portland. This is the vision of the Eastern Trail Alliance, whose members seek to reopen the former railroad corridor into Maine as a multi-use recreational greenway. Recreation Director Sharon Brassard and Anita Rosencrantz, resident of South Berwick, are on the committee for The Eastern Trail.
